Masonry grid of Haskayne School of Business content cards mixing social posts, video thumbnails, a 'Dean's Message' portrait, and a '1.3 billion in equity value' stat.

We design annual reports, impact reports and other long reading for the web, using typography, pacing and media to carry a reader through the material. Recent work includes Haskayne School of Business's annual reports and Calgary Municipal Land Corporation's strategic plan impact report.

Haskayne's 2021 annual report

Haskayne School of Business wanted readers to explore their 2021 annual report rather than skim it and close it. The content was already strong and well organized, so the work was in finding the right format.

We built it on the web as a gallery of cards. Readers see the whole report at a glance and then open the parts that matter to them, which suits a report that faculty and prospective donors read for different reasons. Several card types, including an interactive illustration and a scratch card, kept the gallery from repeating itself.

CMLC's strategic impact report

Calgary Municipal Land Corporation's 2020 to 2024 Strategic Plan Impact Report covers four years of work. We designed and built it as part of CMLC's main website rather than as a standalone document, with photos, data visualizations, short videos and pull quotes set alongside the narrative. The sections are modular components in Sanity, so CMLC's team updates the report themselves and can reuse the parts in future reports.

Print and screen

Some reports need a printed or PDF version as well as a web one. We plan both from the same content, so the two versions say the same thing and the second one does not start from scratch.
