This site has no accounts, no forms, and no analytics, so there is very little to tell. What follows is the whole of it.
Who we are
Built by Field is the operating name of Field Creative Inc., a brand, experience and technology studio in Calgary, Alberta. You can reach us at hello@builtbyfield.com, or by post at Molson’s Bank #300, 116 8 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, T2P 1B3.
Field Creative Inc. handles personal information under Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Field Creative Inc.
What we collect
If you email us, we have your address and whatever you put in the message. That is the only information you hand us directly. This site has no forms, no sign-in, and no mailing list.
Our web server keeps ordinary access logs. An entry records the IP address that made the request, the browser and operating system it reported, the page it asked for, and the time. Logs are how a server stays running and how abuse gets noticed.
We set no cookies. We run no analytics, no advertising tags, and no third-party trackers. Nothing on this site follows you to another one.
Who else is involved
Two services hold or serve parts of this site, and a request to either carries your IP address the way any web request does.
Sanity stores the words and pictures on this site and serves the images. Mux serves the still frames taken from our video work.
Both operate outside Canada, so information handled through them may be stored or processed in another country and may be reachable by the courts and authorities there.
What we do with it
We answer your email. We keep the server running and look into problems when they happen.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it, except with the services above, which act on our behalf, or where the law requires it of us.
How long we keep it
Correspondence stays as long as the conversation or the working relationship needs it, and we clear out what we no longer have a reason to hold.
Server logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct it. You can withdraw your consent to our holding it, subject to anything we still need to keep for legal or contractual reasons. Write to info@builtbyfield.com and we will answer.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you can bring a complaint to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

We change this page when what we do changes, and the date below moves with it. Questions about any of it go to info@builtbyfield.com.
