We build Shopify storefronts with a custom Next.js front end and a content layer in Sanity, so the store carries the brand and the client's team can publish without waiting on a developer. For Milk Jar Candle Co. that included the Scent Seer, which matches customers to candles by scent.
Milk Jar Candle Co
Milk Jar Candle Co.'s brand and packaging were designed by Public Eye (formerly Bamff), and their Squarespace store could not carry that look. They wanted the experience to hold together from the first visit through checkout to unboxing.
We moved them to Shopify with a Next.js front end and Sanity for content. Sanity holds brand content and merchandising alongside the catalogue, so the team can act on a new idea or product line without waiting on a developer. The site won a Gold Anvil at the 2024 Anvils Awards.

Helping people choose
For Milk Jar we built the Scent Seer to help customers find a candle they will like. A customer picks up to four scents, and it returns the products in the catalogue with a matching scent profile. Each product carries its scents as tags, and the team can hide products such as bundles, which include so many scents that they would crowd the results.
What we build on
We build on Shopify with a custom Next.js front end and Sanity for content. Shopify handles checkout, tax and fulfilment, which it already does well, and we build the parts customers see and the team edits.
